Heat Without Exit is built from layered translucent gestures in pink and orange — tones that seem to emanate light. The work feels warm in a way that has nothing to do with decoration: the heat is internal, pressurised, with no apparent release. It is one of the most chromatic works in this practice.

At 100 × 120 cm, the work is generous and centring, the kind of work that holds the eye without effort. It works equally well in formal and domestic interiors.
